Most party leaders—from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan to Senator Chuck Schumer of New York to former Vice President Kamala Harris—quickly embraced Dr. El-Sayed's Senate candidacy, given the stakes of the Michigan seat at the play.

Protecting these natural treasures is a top priority. My brief continues my seven-year fight to stop Enbridge from pumping oil through the Great Lakes.
