The newly renovated Pontiac Oaks Park is a prime example of what’s possible when federal, state, and local officials work together to achieve a common goal.

For more than a century, Berston Field House has been a gathering place for Flint residents. It’s important that this historic landmark continues to serve the community for generations to come.

It now has state of the art equipment there to train crews on how to clean up oil spills, so we don’t have to wait two weeks for a submersible. It can be there like in an hour and a half, it’s very close. We’re gaining the expertise there…

I feel deeply honored to receive this recognition and I’m thrilled to celebrate this new community space alongside residents and partners.
