I commend James Avery, Justus Thigpen Sr., and all the folks who are leading the charge on this revitalization project, and I was proud to be a federal partner in their efforts.

We are once again on the cusp of journeying into deep space and this time we are going boldly and we are going to stay.

The newly renovated Pontiac Oaks Park is a prime example of what’s possible when federal, state, and local officials work together to achieve a common goal.

I feel deeply honored to receive this recognition and I’m thrilled to celebrate this new community space alongside residents and partners.
