For me, as someone who worked on preventing terrorist attacks on the United States for the first 20 years of my career, I believe the post 9/11 era is over. I think January 6th was the cap of the of one era and the beginning of another that makes clear that the most dangerous threat right now to us as Americans, physical threat, is the division between us and the way that some are exploiting those divisions.
