Today, we are here as Democrats from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to Texas to Michigan. I do want to start, though, by saying that, most importantly, we are here as Americans who want to allow every one of our families to be able to participate in what is the best health care system in the world. How ironic that we have the best health care, and, yet, people cannot receive the best health care because of the ways systems have been set up. We do not want to be here talking about Democrats versus Republicans. We want to ask them to join us. Unfortunately, it has become an issue separating us because of whose interests we are reaching out to protect, American people wanting health care or those who benefit, the insurance companies who are benefiting by the current status quo.
