“This is not theater. This is about real people in my State who want to work. This is about investing in middle-class jobs and manufacturing. It is about taking a policy that has been in place now for 18 months that has worked and being able to extend it. In terms of bringing this up for the first time, we have focused on it and have been debating it and discussing it over and over. The bill I asked unanimous consent for is bipartisan. This is not new. We have not been able to get through the obstructionism, the throwing of sand in the gears, and the filibustering to bring this up. If we want to focus on something between now and the end of the year, let's focus on jobs and getting people back to work.”
