“I want him to know he is to be admired. He is certainly a fine symbol for young people all over this world to know that when we speak up and have a conscience about what we believe, our families are better, our people are better, and our countries are better. The young people of America and the citizens across this country by the tens of thousands came to Washington, D.C. last Tuesday, April 1, to speak out and to demonstrate, to assemble, as our Constitution allows, to say to the world that we do not want our country to go back. We want to go forward. We are the sons and daughters of this civilization, and we believe that if we can go to war, we can also go to the universities, and that the doors of the American universities funded by public dollars must stay open.”
