In all, I think this bill, if enacted into law, will strengthen the independent counsel law in many respects and make it an even more useful mechanism to keep the public's trust in government. I hope my colleagues will join me in supporting the conference report on S. 24 and returning the independent counsel law to the books as soon as possible.
