I made it clear that I thought it was too sweeping, that it was causing a lot of confusion and consternation in my state, particularly for nonprofit organizations and I am glad that its apparently been rescinded.

Obviously, I'm disappointed in that decision, which turned abortion issues back to the states. It has not had an impact on the state of Maine.
It appears that there is good faith on the Democratic side to try to pass the CR and avoid a government shutdown, which is always a disaster.
It would undermine the goal of awarding funds based on scientific merit and value, rather than political ideology.
