I thank the Chair. Mr. President, I urge support of Senator DeMint's amendment. It protects the first amendment rights of postal workers by requiring that unions obtain prior approval from workers before spending their dues on political purposes. I think this is probably the one and only amendment where I will diverge with my chairman, but I do urge support of Senator DeMint's amendment. The PRESIDING OFFICER. I think what happened is too many of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol agents were sent out there without proper vetting and without proper training.

Obviously, I'm disappointed in that decision, which turned abortion issues back to the states. It has not had an impact on the state of Maine.
