He’s the one that needs to respond to the reports. I’m not going to comment on them. But I will say that based on widespread reporting it appears that he struggles to control his temper.
It appears that there is good faith on the Democratic side to try to pass the CR and avoid a government shutdown, which is always a disaster.
I took particular issue with the provision that would allow political appointees to review grant proposals, noting that it would undermine the goal of awarding funds 'based on scientific merit and value, rather than political ideology.'
I find this deeply troubling. Reports that women and people of color are disproportionately fired or sidelined create the impression that their service is not valued.
