“Today Congress is confronted with making difficult choices in developing the budget for fiscal year 2009. Undoubtedly, there will be issues that will divide us as we consider this budget resolution, but I do believe that surely we can all come together on other issues. One such issue that I hope we can find mutual agreement is the need to expand the availability of the child tax credit to more working families. This is an issue that I have long worked with my good friend, Senator Lincoln, the senior Senator from Arkansas.
