The decision we made last night was to uphold the congressional commission that was created on military training and gender-related issues to complete its assessment and to report back to this Congress in March of 1999. This commission was created by Congress last year with the active cosponsorship of the Senator from West Virginia--in fact, in deference to the position he held on the issue of gender-integrated training.
