Our policy should be actually to discourage as much as we can unaccompanied children coming to our border by whatever means necessary in order to keep them united with their families that they are leaving.
I just find it interesting that you come and testify on children's--you know, the benefit of children, and here you are, you know, with an agency that actually opposes U.S. efforts to stop Palestinians from paying their terrorists who kill children.
I am going to ask--well, first, I want to thank the Department for, you know, the EQIP Program, the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, important in the State of Maryland.
I mean, look, we want to help people when they are in need, but we have returned to full employment, or what we look at full employment.
But if you could just shed some light. Why is it, you think, that we have so many more people dependent upon the SNAP program than we did 15 years ago?
I mean, you know, the farmers in my district, they are happy that finally we are going to have a program in place that says that when their tax dollars go to pay for supplemental nutrition, which they all want it to go to, that actually we are going to guarantee that a part of that actually is used on American food products, on U.S. farmers' products.
So I personally feel that we not only need the $1.6 billion in that budget, we need far more to do it, including a wall.
Thank you all for enforcing the law, and in the instance of seizing dangerous drugs like fentanyl, finding where they are coming from, saving potentially thousands of American lives.
But we have to trust our law enforcement officers and support them when they enforce the law.
