What we face is, above all, a moral issue that at stake are not just the details of policy, but fundamental principles of social justice and the character of our country.

I have come here tonight to stand with you, to change America, to restore its future, to rise to our best ideals, and to elect Barack Obama president of the United States.

We did have eight Republicans and I take my hat off to them because they had to face very stiff pressure by the far right not to join with the -- with the Democrats to vote this treaty.

This November, the torch will be passed again to a new generation of Americans. So with Barack Obama and for you and for me, our country will be committed to his cause. And the dream lives on.
