In the last three decades our Republican colleagues have skyrocketed the deficit with trillions of dollars in tax cuts.

We have to work together, Republicans and Democrats, if we are going to create a tax system for our country.

It didn't pay for itself, it didn't increase revenue, and it certainly did not increase wages.

We would be doing so at the expense of policies that would really help working families.
