I ask unanimous consent that reading of the amendment be dispensed with. The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered. The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To ensure that products derived from tar sands are treated as crude oil for purposes of the Federal excise tax on petroleum) At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. INCLUSION OF OIL DERIVED FROM TAR SANDS AS CRUDE OIL. This Act shall not take effect prior to 10 days following the date that diluted bitumen and other bituminous mixtures derived from tar sands or oil sands are treated as crude oil for purposes of section 4612(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Amendment No. 141 to Amendment No. 2
