This is fundamental to who we are as Americans. It represents our values, it represents our culture.

I think remains hopeful, not optimistic, but hopeful, that Donald Trump will temper some of his proposals.

He needs to do that. I think as urgent as his appointment are is to give reassurances to the country, he will respect people's rights.
