We have been so accustomed to our political leaders talking to us like children, that to have someone stand up and give a serious talk and face up to the issues that are on everybody's mind -- yes, he probably didn't cover everything that people will want him to cover, but it was a serious conversation. And it's -- that's refreshing.
Gergen praises Obama's serious and adult approach to addressing complex issues in his speech.
