I intend to offer another amendment too along with the gentleman from Ohio (Mr. Strickland) which would provide $1.8 billion for our veterans, for American veterans who are currently fighting in Iraq so that when they come home, they will have the health care that they need and that they deserve.

That is why I take offense when I hear it is the Community Reinvestment Act that did this. That is baloney.
If they want the market to function in a way where there is no government support, intervention, regulation, they will discover it if there is another September of 2008; it will be a debacle.
I think it says something about our system, our political system and how, you know, how there are powerful interests that oftentimes, I believe, don't really understand their own interests in the long term.
I wanted to note that in hearings before the Committee which I Chaired there were a number of military prosecutors that testified that described that entire process as a sham, a joke and a fraud being perpetrated.
