I noted in a report from my hometown paper, the Boston Globe, that the Senator from Arizona, Senator McCain, in response to a question in a very forthright manner made this statement: ``The era of big government is back and Republicans seem to like it.'' I presume that he was referring to Iraq or maybe he was referring to that deficit that is creating a future Armageddon for our children, our grandchildren, and even our friends in North Carolina.”
