I want to thank him. I am reassured because he just said something very important and precedent setting. He said when we debate the appropriations bills for the next fiscal year. We did not debate the appropriation bills for this fiscal year. So at least I will take comfort from an assurance from the majority that in the next fiscal year, unlike the current one, the House may actually debate the appropriations bills.

Congress generally, and this subcommittee in particular has historically played a critical role in strengthening accountability at the World Bank.
No one doubts that if a change in administration comes and the new President disagrees with the existing Director, he or she can be removed.
