On the recordJune 22, 2000
my amendment cuts that money out. This amendment cannot legislate. It does not touch the law, because we cannot legislate on an appropriation bill. What it does, though, is to give each of us a chance to go on record in a symbolic way, that is all we can do, but in a very important way, and say, this is not the America that we want. I urge Members to please vote yes on the Campbell-Bonior-Sanford- LaHood amendment.
