It is not correct to say that this amendment would jeopardize the U.S. interest or the interests of our friends in the Middle East. With all respect and recognizing that we differ on this amendment, it is imperative that I lay out that there is no opposition from the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee to this amendment.
