I yield to the gentleman from Maryland to let him know that his side said they wouldn't negotiate during a shutdown. Obviously, the shutdown is over now. Will there be a counteroffer now put on the table?

We know for sure that the rhetoric from the left, especially their elected leaders, is driving a lot of the violence that you're seeing.
This bill tonight is part of continuing that trend of getting spending under control. Does it answer all the problems? No. Nine billion dollars, I would say, is a good start, and hopefully we do more things like this.
You know, you look at no tax on overtime, it's been a tremendous boom to blue-collar workers.
