These findings make clear, Mr. President, that the government of China has been and continues to intentionally oppress its people. I do not believe that we can stand idly by, without so much as a complaint, as this continues. I firmly believe that it is America's duty as well as our interest to make the extra effort required to improve overall human rights conditions in China and to integrate her into the community of nations.
