I voted to confirm Kennedy only after intense conversations that included Kennedy’s promise to maintain the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommendations without changes.
His poor response to this situation shows that the pressures of being CDC director would have been too much.
If the meeting proceeds, any recommendations made should be rejected as lacking legitimacy given the seriousness of the allegations and the current turmoil in CDC leadership.
