Mr. Chairman, I appreciate the comments of my good friend from Florida. I understand that this amendment has no legal impact in terms of forcing the FCC to do what it is statutorily required to do. It is just a prod. It is a way to say to them: We expect you to do your job. We are in the middle of a very, very contentious political season in which hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent anonymously to influence voters' opinions and their votes. And we think that it is time for the FCC to act. I urge my colleagues to support this amendment, which will help ensure that the public knows exactly who is trying to influence their vote during elections. Mr. Chair, I yield back the balance of my time.
