My bill, H.R. 1361, the Medicaid Home Improvement Act, seeks to address the concerns of GAO in this area and requires States to submit an annual report identifying the sources and amounts of funds used to finance their non-Federal share of Medicaid.

This bill seeks to address GAO and MACPAC findings that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, CMS, does not collect accurate and complete data from all States on the various sources of funds to finance the non-Federal share.
This bill would preserve existing beneficiary protections but help protect taxpayers by updating the limit of allowable equity interest a beneficiary can have in their home.
I think every member of this committee wants to ensure that vulnerable beneficiaries are protected and receive the Medicaid benefits, which are eligible.
I always appreciate working together as co-chairs of the Congressional Spectrum Caucus and we hope to see this bill advance.
My bill would require CMS to provide the same data for the territories as it does for the states.
I appreciate the committee holding this hearing on efforts to strengthen Medicaid by reducing waste, fraud, and abuse.
My bill will help address these concerns by requiring states to adopt an EVV system to verify the date, time, and site of visit as well as the provider of the services.
I think one you suggested there, say we are just not going to enforce the regs if you move forward.
Our bill will allow States to determine their own group market size, just as they do today.
