I believe if most Members actually looked at this bill, there is just no defensible rationale to be against it. It is something that is often under the radar. One of the good things about the district of my colleague, the gentleman from Michigan, is that it is good to have an industrial sector where there is a large concentration; but one of the bad things is that where you have a concentration, you do not have as many Members affected by it. Therefore, they may not feel as much pressure to do what is just and right. The Grand Rapids Holland area has long been the center of office furniture and supply-type furniture in the United States. I grew up in a furniture retailing factory, a family business started in 1907. Since the 1920s, we were retail furniture merchants. In the old days the whole furniture industry was centered in Grand Rapids. That used to be where the markets were before they moved to Chicago and then North Carolina.
