Because the inflation rate got out of control, and Mr. Volcker thought he had to do that to choke off inflation, and, when President Reagan came in and cut the top tax rate, which is not talked about very much, we ended up with seeing interest rates going down dramatically along with inflation. So, when we start talking about, and the Democrat minority starts talking about, interest rates being out of control because of our policies, which we are talking about right now, I think we need to look at history and see that the real problem that was created as far as interest rates and inflation last time occurred primarily under Democrat administrations.
