There has never been a finer Representative than Sam Hall to serve in this body. Sam and I and his lovely wife Madeline had an opportunity to take a trip abroad on one of our foreign policy problems a few years back, and I got to know them very, very well. And one of the saddest moments since I have been in Congress was when he decided to leave Congress to become a Federal judge, because he was a real pillar in this body. So I, along with many of my colleagues, would like to extend my sympathy, along with the gentleman from Kentucky [Mr. Mazzoli] to his wife Madeline and his family. We are all going to miss Sam a great deal.

You know, if we don't do something about the price of gasoline and fuel, we will be able to go to the moon cheaper than we can drive down to the corner drugstore. I know that may sound like a joke, but the cost of fuel is going up so…
