you know, we can talk about a lot of things in a budget debate; but there are only a couple of things we know for sure. One is that we are on an unsustainable fiscal path and we have $46 trillion in unfunded liabilities. And by 2040, we will spend more on Social Security, Medicare, and interest than we have in Federal revenue, which will leave no money for defense, no money for education, no money for ag, no money for Department of Labor, no money for anything unless we have crushing tax increases. Some say that this budget requires hard choices. I would argue it doesn't require any hard choices at all. It simply requires tough management. It is easy to spend other people's money, especially when it is other people's money. It is hard to manage money and achieve results. This budget does the responsible thing by engaging in tough management and putting us on a path of sustainable fiscal future and not passing a debt along to our children that they simply will cannot afford. This budget achieves better government at a lower cost, and I encourage all of my colleagues to support it.

this solution gives all options available. Certainly the Idle Air technology is still very valid. It is very beneficial. And trucks that travel routes where Idle Air technology is available, they certainly can avail themselves of that. But…
