I can remember when I was very young, probably in the 10-year-old range, having my eye on a Sting-Ray bicycle at Sears and Roebuck in Evansville, Indiana... I cut grass, and I delivered papers with my brother, and I had odd jobs until I saved the $55 and was able to go down to Sears and purchase that bike. That's the way you did it back then.
