If we do not address the budgetary problems of this country as a whole, taking Social Security off budget will not do it. We will not have the funds for Social Security in a few years; that is the point. And yet you tell people, senior citizens, that balancing the budget is going to destroy Social Security. In fact, not balancing the budget or taking it off budget will destroy Social Security.
