I don't think he cares. I don't think he cares to honor those who have served. They have done something he was too afraid to do himself, I think he finds those threatening to him, he lashes out to them and minimize their service by saying things like that wasn't a real war, it wasn't fighting the Nazis, it was if Vietnam.
