“Today, I rise in support of H.R. 4. This bill will repeal one of the most egregious and anti-jobs, anti-growth provisions contained in last year's health care law. This 1099 provision threatens our small business owners with an avalanche of paperwork and bureaucracy when Congress should instead be doing everything in our power to help employers create jobs. My constituents have told me loud and clear what this means to them. One small business owner in my district told me that just last year alone she had more than 500 transactions that she would have had to report under this provision, the expense and enormous regulatory burden on her and her employees. She called it ridiculous, and I think she is understating things. I hope Congress will overwhelmingly pass this bill. Let's liberate our small business owners from the mountain of paperwork and instead let them get back to work, creating jobs and moving our economy forward.”
