In President Kennedy's proposal for the redevelopment of Pennsylvania Avenue, which we are talking about, he said the avenue "should be lively, friendly, and inviting, as well as dignified and impressive." I think we can achieve that in the immediate environs of the White House. It is just the next challenge. Let us go forward and do it in good spirit and unity.
