I am concerned that the level of funding in the bill for international educational exchanges will seriously impinge on the ability of AIIS to adequately fill the research demands of U.S. scholars in India. I would therefore seek assurance from the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee that the statement of managers for the Conference Report of this Bill contain mention of the merits of AIIS and the importance of continued funding for the organization.
