The text of the amendment is as follows: Strike section 119 and insert the following new section: SEC. 119. QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARAPROFESSIONALS. Section 1119 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 6319) is amended-- (1) by striking subsections (a), (b), (d), (i), (j), (k), and (l); (2) by redesignating subsection (c) as subsection (a); (3) by redesignating subsections (e) through (h) as subsections (b) through (e), respectively; (4) in subsection (a), as redesignated by paragraph (2), by striking ``hired after the date of enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and''; (5) in subsection (b), as redesignated by paragraph (3), by striking ``Subsections (c) and (d)'' and inserting ``Subsection (a)''; and (6) in the section heading, by striking ``teachers and''.
