A strong aerospace industry enables the United States to defend itself, compete in the global marketplace, maintain a highly skilled workforce, and provide safe and secure travel to all Americans.

But the bottom line is the bottom line, and it comes down to money.

I thought it was crazy to try and design a multibillion-dollar system using taxpayers' money without involving those who, in fact, would operate the system.
