I call on [Texas] Governor [Greg] Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate.

It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.

This confirms what we have always known: This is about normalizing military forces in American cities.

It is striking fear in the hearts of everybody in Chicago, and we have residents — this isn't just about undocumented people.
