I think the Senators who spoke on the floor on this issue, Senator Feingold included, have benefited greatly from traveling to Africa, not just because we have seen firsthand this epidemic and its devastation, but frankly because it is energizing. Seeing people, real people and their travails, their hardships because of this epidemic, causes many of us to dedicate ourselves to do something. In an epidemic of such Biblical proportions as the AIDS epidemic in Africa, many of us are humbled, as we should be. I sincerely believe on this issue, more than any other issue, we should put party labels aside.
