I also want to direct my colleagues--I see my colleague on the floor from Connecticut, and I want to yield to him--to a New York Times article, which was published on June 28, 2016, entitled ``A Sea of Charter Schools in Detroit Leaves Students Adrift,'' by Kate Zernike. Let me close by saying, this is rare. It is rare that we have a nomination for the position of Secretary of Education which has drawn such controversy. There were many things that Ms. DeVos could have been given as a reward for her loyal support of Republicans and all of the things she has done in her life, but to be entrusted with the responsibility of running America's public education system at this critical moment in our history certainly is not one of them, as far as I am concerned. We should have taken the time and the President should have taken the time to find a person who had the resume, the qualifications, and the expertise in education policy for this important responsibility.
