“I believe the positive aspect of this is that for those who started out this debate saying we are going to eliminate Medicare, that Medicare is going to be replaced with a private plan, private insurance, that argument is out the window. Medicare recipients will be able to continue their basic Medicare coverage for hospitals and doctors. It will not be an either/ or situation. I think that is positive. We have finally reached a point where we have an honest debate over prescription drugs, and I think for those of us on this side of the aisle who have been pushing for it for so long, those are two very positive aspects of this debate.”
