“I do not question the sincerity of my colleague. I know you come to this issue with a sincere heart. I don't question that at all. What I am saying to you is that you and I could spend the rest of this day and the next on this floor debating the issue of abortion, and we are not going to resolve it--not in this Chamber, not in this country. Listen to this radical idea: What if we bring the MOMMA's Act to the floor and agree that we will debate an amendment--any amendment one would want to offer? Do you know what it would be?
