These fatalities I’ve talked about could have been avoided. These people could be alive today.

I want to take a moment to respond to [Committee Republicans’] claim at Todd Blanche’s confirmation hearing that Democrats never criticized the Biden Justice Department’s actions. This is simply and provably false.

[Republicans] owe it to him to tell his story under oath and [Republicans] refused to [bring him before the Committee]. The conclusion I draw is that they are afraid of what he has to say… would you comment on it?

Mr. Blanche’s behavior surrounding the Epstein investigation is just one of the many reasons he should not lead the Department of Justice. I urge my colleagues to oppose his nomination.
