But the rest of them, at this point it is an embarrassment to me. As a person who couldn't have gone to college without a student loan--and I have voted reflexively now in the House and the Senate to give the next generation the same chance--I have to say to the Senator the party is over as far as I am concerned. The next time we have a debate on Pell grants and college loans, I want this issue front and center. They are ripping off the taxpayers and ripping off the students and ripping off the veterans and we are fools to ignore it. The House Republicans have announced that they want no part of reform, that they are going to take this power away from the Department of Education. I think we have to send a different message.
