I thank my colleague from South Carolina. What the Senator concluded with, though, I think is critical to this conversation. He said the only way to get to the bottom of whether there is an al-Qaida connection that could threaten the United States is military detention. Well, the Abdulmutallab case argues just the opposite. It was the Federal Bureau of Investigation that he sat before and told all of the information that the Senator has just discussed.
