PRCC is a fixture of the Humboldt Park community, where I grew up. Every year since 1978, through the Puerto Rican People's Day parade, PRCC showcases and celebrates the Puerto Rican community's rich culture and heritage on ``Puerto Rico Town,'' ``Paseo Boricua,'' now known as Barrio Boriken. The team at PRCC, including executive director and cofounder, Jose Lopez; chief operating officer, Juan Manuel Calderon; and director of Vida/SIDA Ricardo Jimenez, are visionary leaders with deep roots in our barrio.
